The Estate Receipt form (PR-1815) is typically used toward the end of the probate process, once the court has authorized the distribution of the estate's assets. This document is essential for beneficiaries or creditors who have received their share of the decedent's estate. It serves as an acknowledgment of receipt, ensuring all parties agree that the distribution was carried out correctly.
Once these steps are completed and authorized, beneficiaries or claimants will utilize the Estate Receipt to document that they have received their distributions (in full or in part). This is a key step towards formally closing the estate.
